Shea Butter
Shea nut is a tree product but it is low in the proteins that trigger allergies. Shea butter does not contain chemical irritants known to dry out skin and it doesn’t clog pores. It is appropriate for nearly all skin type.
Shea is used for its moisturizing effects – due to its fatty acid content, including linoleic, oleic stearic and palmitic acids. Shea butter rapidly absorbs into the skin when applied. These oils act as a “refatting” agent and creates moisture, holds it in and reduces the risk of dryness.
Research shows that shea butter has anti-inflammatory properties, which may help minimize irritation caused by the environment (dry weather) as well as inflammatory skin conditions such as eczema.
Some people worry about the product being oily because shea is oily. True that may be, because Shea butter contains linoleic and oleic acids, the skin easily absorbs and does not make it appear oily.
Shea butter contains Vitamins A and E, promoting strong antioxidant activity. We all know antioxidants are important anti-aging agents which protect the skin cells from free radicals that can lead to premature aging and dull looking skin.

The products worked for a few months and I’ll be forced to try something new which will work for a few months… I kept going in circles. One day, standing in front of the mirror in my bathroom about to apply a new product, I had divine instruction/guidance on what to do. Apart from being the founder of Yum Beauty Products Inc., Cole, a survivor of Female Genital Mutilation (FGM), child sexual assault, and rape, focuses on empowering survivors and provides needed tools (financial, emotional, and educational) to help them overcome their ordeal via her various platforms.
Cole mentors survivors of FGM and other forms of sexual violence and hosts an annual “Take Back the Power” Workshop every May in Freetown, Sierra Leone. Cole has been awarded (Women in History 2013) for her work by Northwest High School; Awarded by FestAfrica USA for her outstanding presence in her community and memorable change in the African community and beyond; and was also awarded a Humanitarian Award for her work on FGM and message of hope to survivors of sexual violence and FGM by the Los Angeles Nollywood Film Association. Cole has been recognized by Global Woman P.E.A.C.E. Foundation and A Smile for a Child for building a community of Support, Love, and Sisterhood for survivors of FGM and other forms of sexual violence.
